An email from Mayor Pam Iorio's Office. Water Shortage Conditions Persist TAMPA, FL (May 23, 2007) - Despite recent isolated rainfall, the very serious water shortage conditions in our region have gotten worse. Tampa's reservoir in the Hillsborough River is now more than 4.5 feet below normal and this has required the Tampa Water Department to purchase unprecedented amounts of water from the regional water supplier, Tampa Bay Water. As a result, we continue to ask all users to reduce indoor and outdoor water use, and to irrigate only as allowed by ordinance. The entire current Emergency Water Use Ordinance 2006-14 addresses all water uses and is available online at TampaGov.net/water. Residents and businesses inside the city limits are restricted to the following watering guidelines: - Addresses ending in an even number or the letters A-M may water on Tuesdays only. - Addresses ending in an odd number or the letters N-Z may water on Sundays only. -Watering on the designated day is allowed between midnight and 8 a.m. or 6 p.m. and midnight. © 2006-2011 www.TampaMortgageConsultant.com |
