Shockingly, Tampa real estate prices still going downward!
January 2, 2010
The most recent survey results of the Case Shiller home price index, showed that Tampa Bay had the worst decline (down 1.6% October) out of the 20 metro areas surveyed. Even more shockingly, it was the 3rd worst (behind Las Vegas and Phoenix) for the 12 months ending October 2009. We all know about the great aspects of living in this area: great weather, lots of culture and events, awesome natural beauty and beaches, relatively low cost of living, no state taxes, etc. If you are looking to buy your dream home, second home, investment property, etc., now is a great time to do it! This area has way too much going for it to continue to decline. Sooner or later, things will turn around. Don't be persuaded by all the negativity you hear in the media. Hopefully this economy will start the turnaround in 2010. We are seeing signs of it, despite the survey results that came about above. I'm hoping that all of my loyal site visitors will have a healthy, prosperous and fulfilling new year for 2010! Happy New Year to you and your family.
